Queen City Crunch: A Charlotte Snack Sensation We’re Proud to Carry

At Paper Skyscraper, we’ve always loved championing local creators. That’s why we were so excited when Queen City Crunch—a homegrown Charlotte pretzel brand—hit our shelves. What started as a small family recipe has grown into a local favorite, and we’re thrilled to be part of their journey. Founder Katie Cooper and Paper Skyscraper partnered in the early stages of their business. Along the way in pursuit of the perfect pretzel, Paper Skyscraper has enjoyed carrying limited edition flavors, sneak peeks into new packaging, and a friendship with their staff and ours. 

From Family Recipe to Local Favorite

Back in early 2021, Katie Cooper, a stay-at-home mom with good taste for good snacks, decided to turn her family’s signature pretzel recipe into a business. With encouragement from her husband, Sean, and daughter, Charlotte, Queen City Crunch came to life right from their home kitchen. 

The recipe itself? It’s a family heirloom, passed down from Katie’s mom, Judy, who used to gift these flavorful pretzels during the holidays. That same original recipe, now called “The OG,” was the spark that launched an entire line of mouthwatering flavors. 

Made With Love—Right Here in Charlotte

Queen City Crunch isn’t just about great pretzels—it’s about heart. Every batch is handmade in Charlotte by a team of incredible women from the local community. Their attention to detail and passion for the craft is part of what makes these pretzels so special. (And yes, they love a good pretzel pun—they say they could “knot” do it without their team!) 

They’re also committed to giving back. A portion of their profits goes to Families Forward Charlotte, a nonprofit supporting local families through mentoring, education, and essential resources. So when you snack, you’re helping others too!
